We&#8217;ll tell you \u2014 with sources \u2014 whether it&#8217;s licensed, legitimate, or a trap.<\/p>\n<section class=\"ln-xe5\" style=\"margin:40px 0;\">\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/themes\/litenett\/assets\/img\/section-check.jpg\" alt=\"Magnifier over an envelope\"><\/figure>\n<div>\n<h2>When to ask for a check<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>An &#8220;amazing opportunity&#8221; has landed via email, LinkedIn, Telegram, WhatsApp or a dating app.<\/li>\n<li>A broker you&#8217;ve never heard of is asking for a deposit \u2014 especially if they&#8217;re pressing a deadline.<\/li>\n<li>A friend of a friend swears by a platform that promises monthly returns.<\/li>\n<li>A cold caller offered to &#8220;recover&#8221; money you lost to an earlier scam (this one in particular \u2014 it&#8217;s almost always a secondary fraud).<\/li>\n<li>Any time your gut says &#8220;wait a minute&#8221;. A free second opinion is always better than a bad first decision.<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n<\/section>\n<h2>What a Litenett check covers<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Licence status<\/strong> \u2014 we check the national regulator&#8217;s register in the relevant jurisdiction (the Netherlands AFM, Germany BaFin, the UK FCA, Switzerland FINMA, and so on).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Company existence<\/strong> \u2014 real registration, real directors, real address, real age. Shell companies and freshly-minted &#8220;advisers&#8221; show up here.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Watchlists and warnings<\/strong> \u2014 IOSCO, each major regulator&#8217;s public warning list, press reports.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Payment route<\/strong> \u2014 where you&#8217;d be sending money, in whose name, through which bank or crypto rail. Mismatch between the firm&#8217;s name and the beneficiary is a strong red flag.<\/li>\n<li><strong>The offer itself<\/strong> \u2014 the maths behind the promised return, what would have to be true for it to be real, and whether anyone sane would offer it to a stranger.<\/li>\n<li><strong>The pressure script<\/strong> \u2014 how the firm pushed you to decide, which of the common fraud patterns it matches.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>What you receive<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>A one-page verdict \u2014 green, amber or red \u2014 with a short explanation.<\/li>\n<li>A longer appendix with the sources behind every claim, so you can verify any of it yourself.<\/li>\n<li>Specific next steps if the verdict is amber or red (how to withdraw, who to report to, what evidence to keep).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Turnaround time<\/h2>\n<p>Most checks turn around inside 48 hours. If a deadline is pushing you, put it in the subject line of your email \u2014 we&#8217;ll prioritise.<\/p>\n<h2>What it costs<\/h2>\n<p>A single fixed fee per firm or offer, quoted up front. Second firms you&#8217;re weighing against each other are discounted when checked together.<\/p>\n<h2>If you&#8217;ve already paid and now think you were scammed<\/h2>\n<p>Do not pay anyone to &#8220;recover&#8221; the money \u2014 that&#8217;s a secondary scam, and we don&#8217;t do recovery work either. Tell your bank immediately (they may be able to reverse a recent transfer), report to your national cybercrime service, and keep every email and screenshot.
