Version 1.0 · in force from 1 November 2026.
Litenett wants every reader to be able to use this website without difficulty. We follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 at Level AA as a baseline and aim higher where we can.
What’s in place today
- High-contrast text. All body text meets WCAG AA contrast requirements against the white background.
- Resizable text. You can enlarge text up to 200% in any modern browser without the layout breaking.
- Keyboard navigation. Every link, button, menu and form field can be reached and operated with Tab, Shift-Tab, Enter and Space.
- Visible focus. The element you’re on is always clearly outlined — never hidden.
- Skip-to-content link. The first thing a keyboard user sees is a “skip to content” link that jumps past the header.
- Image descriptions. Every meaningful image has alt text. Decorative images are marked as decorative so screen-readers don’t announce them.
- Reduced motion. If your operating system is set to reduce motion, animations and auto-scrolling are turned off.
- Plain language. We rewrite every page until a tired reader can follow it on the first read.
Known limitations
Where embedded third-party videos are present, we rely on the provider (YouTube or Vimeo) for their accessibility features. We check that captions are present on every video we upload; where they are not yet, we add them.
Standards and testing
We test with axe-core as part of our publishing pipeline, and we run a full manual screen-reader pass (NVDA on Windows, VoiceOver on macOS) before each major template change. The last full test was October 2026.
Spot something that isn’t working?
Email [email protected] with:
- The page you were on (a URL is best).
- What you were trying to do.
- Which assistive technology or browser you’re using, if relevant.
We aim to fix accessibility bugs within 10 working days — faster where the fix is small. If the fix will take longer, we’ll tell you why.
